S.O.S. Soup Substitute for Corn Starch Free Soup! I use Arrowroot!

I have printed the original recipe as it appeared. Because of my allergy to corn products you will find my modifications below. I have seen other versions of this on the internet as well.

SOUP OR SAUCE {S.O.S.} MIX

INGREDIENTS
2 cups powdered non-fat dry milk
¾ cup cornstarch
¼ cup instant chicken bouillon (regular or low sodium)
2 Tbsp dried onion flakes
2 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine all ingredients in a recloseable plastic bag, mixing well.
Combine ⅓ cup of dry mix with 1¼ cups of cold water. Whisk until well blended.
Cook and stir on stove top or in microwave until thickened.

The following is my version:

INGREDIENTS
2 cups powdered non-fat dry milk
¾ cup ARROWROOT
¼ cup instant chicken bouillon (regular or low sodium)I OMIT THIS
2 Tbsp dried onion flakes
2 tsp Italian seasoning (optional). (I OMIT)
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine all ingredients in a recloseable plastic bag, mixing well.
I Mix this in a bowl and use o jar funnel and fill a Mason Jar 3/4 full of the dry mix.
Combine ⅓ cup of dry mix with 1¼ cups of Chicken Broth. This takes the place of the bouillon Whisk until well blended.
Cook and stir on stove top or in microwave until thickened.

We use this mix often to substitute for Cream of Mushroom Soup. We add a 4 ounce jar of Great Value Mushroom Bits & Pieces or slices. Whatever we have on hand. We have been using this for years.Thank you Jillee for your recipe.
